The Truth about Parkland and Gun rights

I, and many others that have chosen to be informed on this, have noted that once again the act of vile, disgusting, twisted animals bent on committing acts of violence is once again being blamed on the gun and the “evil” NRA instead of where it should be in this case-with the FBI, Broward County Police and the Department of Education and Justice Department. No one in their anti-gun fervor wants to discuss the “Promise Program”. This program was implemented by the Obama justice department and Dept of (no) Education and continues today. It was a misguided attempt at covering up crime statistics by financially incentivizing high teen crime counties around the country-especially those with minority populations- to look the other way in to many cases in order to show lower incarceration  rates. The more they got those numbers down, the more federal dollars they received. This is why the BCPD never prosecuted Nicholas Cruz after he committed MANY lesser violent acts which were a clear warning sign, threatened the schools and others on more than one occasion, and posted dangerous comments on social media. The FBI has admitted they were tipped off about him on multiple occasions but again, did nothing to stop him. Had he been prosecuted and removed from the schools (as he was over 18 for much of this time) he would have had a record and likely would not have passed a back ground check to obtain his gun legally.

Now on to the issue of the guns themselves. There was a writer in the March 16 Villager that made some points that have also been made by other writers recently that need to be challenged and corrected. First, while I appreciate and honor the writer’s military service, that in NO way gives the writer absolute moral authority or the final word on guns or my rights. Because this is simply his opinion and there are millions of other vets, law enforcement, and legal gun owners that would disagree with his position.  If you choose to not own one of these weapons (or any other) that is your right as well. But there are millions who peacefully and safely own AR-15s and other  weapons that will NEVER commit a crime with it. So making new,  feel good laws that will do nothing except disarm and criminalize law abiding gun owners that will never commit a heinous crime is pure folly. Need proof? One example is the city of Chicago. Some of the strictest gun laws in the country but has some of the highest gun murder rates as well. Why? Because criminals and evil people do not obey laws. Only the lawful do, and they are the ones who will suffer.  Life and living –especially in an open free Republic like ours is not without danger  and risk. You cannot legislate a risk free society no matter how hard you try and the government apparatus that would be needed to attempt it would be beyond frightening anyways. Another example? Did Timothy McVeigh fire one shot to commit his horrible act of evil in Oklahoma City in 1995 killing 168? No he did not. Did terrorists on 9/11/2001 fire   one shot to kill thousands in NY, PA, and DC? No they did not. It is just easy and convenient to blame guns because gun grabbing fulfills a political end. And let us also note that not one of these mass shooters were NRA members, not one. And there is also the argument about “if we could save just one life, wouldn't it be worth it?” Ok, so by that logic then,  shouldn't we outlaw abortion? Wouldn't it be worth it “if we could save just one life”?

The reader also claims to have the only correct interpretation of the Second amendment to the Constitution and claim that others with different opinions either haven’t read it or “really don’t understand it”. That is laughable and insulting. It says what it says and any reading of the papers that are Founders wrote in defense of the Constitution and the Second Amendment specifically are plain to read and understand.  The Founders’ intentions were clear why the Second Amendment was added and is second only to the freedom of speech and the press. And speaking of that, the writer also makes another specious argument that the Founders could “had no way of knowing what lay ahead 200 plus years…”. Using that logic, should we also outlaw broadcast media, blogs, internet, podcasts, satellite radio and the myriad of other ways other than printing press newspapers that we get our information from because clearly there is no way the Founders could have known about the technology that would be created to these ends?  Though I dare say there are many on the fringe left that actually would ban these channels if they could and it served their controlling ends—much the way disarming the population would also serve their ends.

Finally, it should be noted that banning a gun like the AR is just the opening act for the anti gun crowd. There is already a bill in the Congress that would ban EVERY semi auto gun in existence—even hand guns. While fortunately that bill is going nowhere, it is instructional to see the plans of the gun grabbers and what they ultimately seek. They will not ever stop and it will never be enough for them until there are no legal guns at all. If that is what they want, they should proudly say so, so that we can all see what their intentions are and choose sides on that that basis. Then instead of finding activist judges and unconstitutionally driven politicians to do their bidding, try to do it the right way: seek a Constitutional amendment to abolish the Second Amendment and see how that goes. I’m sure the gun grabbers know exactly what the amendment process is and can recite it easily as again they are the absolute moral authorities on natural rights, are they not?  No, actually they do not know the process in most cases and if they do, they know it would never  have a chance to become reality so they resort to the aforementioned politicians and judges to do their bidding.

The gun grabbers say we have to be “like the rest of the world” when it comes to guns. And in truth, they want to subvert all of our liberties to their global ideology. But we are Americans, we are not like the rest of the world by design and should never give up the unique God given rights and freedoms that we have which have been so brilliantly captured in our Founding. I say to those people that wish to subvert our rights, if you want to live in a society like that, then please leave and go find one you prefer, but leave the rest of us who want to preserve the greatest country on Earth the hell alone.

Common Core and SBAC: Epic Failures

Common Core is bad policy on so many levels there isn’t space or time to list them all here.  But suffice to say that it has been a dark and twisted path to the development and birth of these so-called standards and its real goals, the power players and the money behind it. People should do their research and find out for themselves. The reports of it failures come in daily from around the country.  But now that they are here, for the time being anyways, let’s talk about a few of the current issues, how they negatively impact children and families, and how to deal with its damage.

Recently, the field test of the  “Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium” tests, otherwise known as “SBAC” which is the testing arm of Common Core,  had to be delayed a week nationally due to system and software issues. As of this writing today, the pilot tests were reinstated but with reports of endless problems, frustrated teachers, and upset children abounding here in Killingly and I am sure around the country.  Not a surprise, what do you expect when you try to institute a one-size fits all national curriculum (disguised as “standards”) on a whole country of moldable children?  Top down, central education has been the goal of “Progressives” (from BOTH parties!) for over a hundred years and we are merrily waltzing into it here in CT and many other states. Thankfully, there are many people and legislatures waking up to this danger and pushing back. The State of Indiana is the latest to jettison Common Core and at least 2 dozen other states are actively considering it. Sadly, CT is currently not one of those states.

In regards to SBAC , the best thing  you can do as a parent is to opt your children out of this testing now and in the future. I have already done so with my child and will continue to do so. But wait, you are asking, we were told that if we want to opt out our child that we are  in violation of the law and were quoted very official looking statutes that say we can’t and that we have no right or say in this or on how our child’s personal data will be collected and used(more on that in a moment).  This a half truth being perpetrated on unsuspecting parents who are not knowledgeable about their rights. While it is true that there is no opt out language in the law, there also is no provision to NOT allow opt out and there is no enforcement mechanism to make you agree to this intrusive testing. I attended the public hearing on March 12 in Hartford on HB5078 that would delay implementation of Common Core in CT until at least 2015 so it could be thoroughly reviewed. More than 120 people testified for over 12 hours on this bill and others and the majority were in support of the bill. While that bill will likely never see a vote, because the Democrats who Chair the committee are in total support of Common Core, one of the main highlights of the hearing was very early on in the testimony when CT State Dept of Education Commissioner Stefan Pryor and Chairman Allan Taylor were pressed on whether parents could opt out their child and what the consequences were If they did. They  reluctantly admitted after being asked the question several times, that indeed parents had the right to opt out and there is absolutely no recourse or punishment that can be dished out to parents or students. Which of course we always knew as Commissioner Pryor had already circulated an official talking points memo (which is readily available to the public) instructing school districts in how to respond to opt out requests in a step by step manner attempting to scare and intimidate parents into compliance. The last point on the memo essentially says that in the end if the parent insists, then the child will not be tested. So parents, opt out your kids if you are concerned. It is your right and you should not be intimidated from doing so.  What the Chairman also said has equally been known to most of us as well - that there is a 95% testing compliance in place by the Federal government. Meaning if at least 95% of students do not take the test, the State could be penalized by means of less money from the Federal Dept of Education.  But wait, we have been told by CC supporters that the Federal government has nothing to do with Common Core. How can that be then?? If we want to get rid of Common Core, one of the best ways to do that is just get 10% of parents to opt their kids out. The money will dry up and it will have to go away. This also proves another truth. That Common Core was never about improving education and doing the right things for kids. It is all about money and control.

And what about the SBAC field test failing and being delayed by a week? Instead of kids getting the locally designed and implemented instruction they need, millions of kids around the country are being used as guinea pigs for unproven, undocumented, and poor standards with an expensive failed test software rollout.  And again, if the Federal government is not orchestrating Common Core (at least in the background) and this is a “locally controlled” initiative, then why was this test a national failure? Why was the State of CT or any other State not able to conduct its own testing on its own system? Why is all this linked together? 

And that leads to the next point-privacy and data mining. We have seen the abuses of the NSA in unconstitutional spying on US citizens without a warrant growing rampant in the last 10 years especially.  Common Core is also mass spying. It seeks to establish tracking and storage of sensitive private data (not just test scores) on you and your family. It will establish this tracking from the time your child starts school and continue all the way though and beyond school and into the workplace. This data will be shared across state lines through uniform systems called “ statewide longitudinal data systems”.  Are you comfortable having your child’s history tracked and stored without your knowledge and certainly without your consent? For what purpose?   But don’t worry, we are assured that there will be strict limits placed on who can access this data and that the Federal government will not require states to turn over this info to them. Only problem with that is again, it is a half truth at best. You see the Federal Dept of Education Secretary Arnie Duncan unilaterally (read: without Congressional approval) changed what is called FERPA law which is existing Federal statutes that is supposed to severely restrict collection and dissemination of student data to allow much of this sensitive personal data to third party companies! Yes, corporate interests that will use this information to track your child and market services and products to them. Again, follow the money. And since these data systems have to be uniform so the various States can access and share this data, it will also allow a back door entry for the Feds to get this data. Remember, the States will not be required (yet) to hand over this data but the backdoor will be left open for them to walk in. Do you trust a Federal government that is also in charge of NSA spying and an IRS now in charge of your healthcare to safeguard your family’s data?

Common Core seeks to get its hooks into your kids at an early of an age as possible for maximum influence and affect on their development. Why do you think we are seeing a renewed national push for mandatory pre-K? Is putting your kids into the hands of the State at such an early age and away from the nurture of their parents and traditional family really a benefit to your child’s future? No, it is simply a way to mold and shape them to the dark objectives of Common Core’s developers and money people using these highly flawed and suspect standards.

The financial costs of implementing Common Core now and in the future are massive and bound to topple already fragile budgets.  Common Core was seeded by the US Department of Education in 2009 with more than $300 MILLION of grant money dangled in front of cash strapped states. They just had to accept the standards to get the money. That funding is scheduled to run out this year and a renewal of this funding will not be sought. Therefore this will become another giant unfunded mandate. And guess who will pick up the tab for its future costs?

What will be the result of this crushing cost? Poorly educated , bewildered, and angry students unprepared for what they will face;  loss of many great teachers fed up with the bureaucracy and unable to look into the mirror and tell themselves that this is the right way to run an education system; state and local budgets left in ruins; an eventually I feel the final goal- the “necessary” full federal takeover of the education system (much like the end game of the so-called “Affordable Care Act”- a full government takeover of healthcare when it topples the existing system) and another nail in the coffin of our Republic. Don’t worry though, I’m sure Common Core will instead teach our kids that we live in a Democracy so they won’t know the difference anyways.

As if this Marxist President hasn't done enough to destroy our economy and nationalize industries, he now seems poised to buy off even more of the college vote by enacting new rules for college loan pay back.

Obama got legislation passed in 2009 that outlawed the private college loan business and handed over that unconstitutional authority to the Feds, putting taxpayers on the hook to subsidize every little Johnny or Susie's college loan whether they want to or not.

Now with these new rules he will enact, the little slimes suckling off this program will now have to pay only paltry amounts after they graduate and after 20 years the remaining balance is forgiven!! Meaning YOU and I will pay for that unpaid portion!

Like health care, Big Brutha got this garbage passed by promising to lower costs and increase efficiency, but as we will definitely see in healthcare with the passage of Obamacare, what we will really get is a government takeover, soaring costs, higher taxes, and less choice and having the government dictate who gets what loan and under what conditions. (can you say "rationing" and "death panels"?). The evil of this dangerous man knows no bounds and soon we will see the collapse of our economic system under the weight of entitlement and crushing debt.

You see Socialism is for the people, not the Socialists (h/t Andrew Wilkow) and so while Michelle and Barack privately dine on the foods that they demonize in public, they keep up their views and philosophy that you and your family are just to damned stupid to make the right choices of what you and your kids eat when you dine out. The only thing left is for Michelle to insist on regulations on how to wipe your butt in the proper manner using toilet paper or other that is approved by her and Barack.

How Orwellian of our man-child President as his popularity continues to sink and he becomes more desperate in his bid to hold on to what little confidence and trust Americans have left in him! No doubt he will use this data to not only send out his attack dogs and minions, but also to overtly or covertly punish anyone who challenges his failed Presidency.

It is very sad that the highest office holder of the greatest country in the world has to be reduced to Soviet style surveillance. But what do you expect from the empty suited, Marxist community organizer who has run out of bad ideas and has a country quickly running out of patience!

Rick Perry is Right: Social Security IS a Ponzi Scheme

I am not the biggest Rick Perry fan, but on this issue he is 100% correct and Mitt Romney (and anyone who wants to keep Social Security going) is 100% wrong!

The fact that people like Mitt Romney insists on keeping generations of future employees tied into this LOSER program-knowing damn well that taxes would need to be drastically increased to support it and "benefits" cut equally, should automatically disqualify him from being a Presidential candidate--and he CERTAINLY cannot be called "Conservative" for such a position!

Remembering 9/11 Ten Years Later

Let us take time on this day to pray for and remember the victims of these horrfic events.

Let us pray daily for the family and friends of the victims especially those of our brave first reponders that gave their lives to save others.

Let us remember the great signs of bravery, hope, and light on a day of such darkness.

Let us continue to be vigilant against evil and those that threaten the United States.

Let us protect our Republic with all our power while remembering our Founding Principles and the laws of our Constitution.

As we go forward from today and every day let us acclaim again that we will NEVER forget!

The Silver Back gorilla (h/t Andrew Wilkow), Homeland In-Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announces that they will give back door amnesty to illegal aliens who are here "working, going to school, having family in military or the main supporter of a family". They of course will continue to deport those accused of crimes. I have 2 thoughts on this:
1 If they are here illegally they ALREADY HAVE COMMITTED A CRIME!
2. What do you think the chance is that EVERY one of them won't claim that they are either "attending school" or "supporting family" as an excuse to stay?

The Scum plans on announcing his "super secret" job creation plan--after of course his elitist vacation in Martha's Vineyard...
Thoughts:
1. When will people realize that it is not the job or role of the Federal Government to "create" jobs or be involved at all! It is only the role of the government to create the conditions for job creation--which is lower taxes and less regulation--neither of which Obama believes in or proposes!
2. We know what his "secret" plan is: more stimulus, more debt, more taxes, more regulation, more back door support for unions, more money to build roads to no where, useless "shovel ready" jobs, Communinst "green energy"policy and more...the classic, tired and worn out playbook of the left and Socialists like Obama.

My advice? Stay on vacation Mr. Obama-you do less damage that way!

Scum Obama and Marxists Ready for Marshall Law in the United States

As the world falls apart with global unrest, stock market plunges, unemployment rising and crushing debt everywhere, the Scum Barack Hussein Obama and the Marxists are nearing the moment they have been waiting for--a crisis like no other--that they will surely not waste (Rahm Emanuel).
As soon as this wave of riots and unrest make there way to our shores, get ready for Obama to declare dictatorial powers and declare Marshall Law in the United States.

This is a very dark time for the world and for freedom. We must pray deeply and reach our inner peace as turbulent times are to come!

The Communinsts and Marxists like Obama will surely act on this "crisis" to seize control of our liberty. Who remains happy that unemployment continues to pick up steam while his fraud Communists at the Labor Department continue to pad and hide the true employment stats!

Obama says "he needs a break"...Well Mr. President, our country needs a break from you--a permanent one!

Financial Markets Crash, Obama and the Left Celebrate!

The stock market crashed over 450 points today wiping out the gains (albeit, fake, phony gains) seen so far this year.
The crash is brought on by the markets being spooked by lower earnings, the debt and downgrade issues. Of course if you listened to the Scum, the left, and the moronic RINOs raising the debt limit was going to PREVENT this crash! Of course anyone with even a small clue this would not be the case as the US economy now begins to fall over due to the heavy top weight.
And of course this is being accelerated and amplified by the foreign markets as well.

This destruction, in conjunction with the sure to be bad labor report coming tomorrow, is precisely what the left and Obama have been aiming for since the 1920's and must have been an extra celebratory event at the Scum's 50th birthday/fund raiser yesterday.

Again, we are ruled by a tiny, radical leftist majority who truly are monsters and can see the finish line in destroying the United States. It may be already to late for the America we know and love but we must beat back and defeat these forces and try to rebuild our Republic from the ashes these vermin have placed us into. Whether that takes place by nullification by the states, strong Conservatives at all level of government, or eventual break up of the union (pray that never happens!) there must be a concentrated effort to end the tyranny of this radical group led by the ultimate Marxist and more than likely an ineligible President who must be sent packing in 2012.

Scum Obama Laments Not Being Able to Dictate "Change"

At his lush, Communist-type birthday and fund raiser in Chicago, the Scum laments the fact that we have this "big, messy, tough Democracy" that doesn't allow him to implement his "change" immediately--although he should be excited he has gotten so much already--albeit illegally through phony Executive Orders, regulations, and dirty leftists in Congress!

All this while our debt to GDP ratio is now is around 100% meaning our country's entire production is equal that of our debt! The debt went up $239 billion in ONE DAY after the debt ceiling was raised by the ALL the morons in Congress on both sides of the aisle!

And the Scum's administration continues to kill what little is left of business by issuing more crushing regulations adding to the growing burden of government at a time when it should be skewered!

But that's ok, because Americans should feel good that the Scum is going to embark on a bus tour around the country to talk about all the ways he plans to kill the country--and you and I are going to pay for it!

We cannot survive another term of this monster. We may not even be able to survive the current one I fear!
