The Scum is coming for your guns to pay off his anti-gun lobby. This article is the latest warning that something is brewing and you better pay close attention to this situation! Our Second Amendment right is the ONLY thing keeping you and I from being totally overrun by a dictatorial government. Our Founders knew this which is why it was written into our Founding documents including the Declaration of Independence and Constitution!
However, if this DOES happen, it is in part at least caused by the Chicago gun case, McDonald vs. Heller in which the Supreme Court interceded by saying the city of Chicago could not pass these gun laws! As much as I disagree with the city's position it was their right to pass whatever laws it sees fit and the Supreme Court has NO authority to intercede in a state issue!! By the Supreme Court getting involved, they have placed this power back into the hands of Congress and Obama to write laws that using the Supreme Court decision as cover. The Constitution PROHIBITS the Congress and President to have any say into what a state does or doesn't do with gun rights or restrictions. What the Supreme Court has done and has continued to do is "Incorporate" the Bill of Rights onto the states--something the Founders NEVER approved of!! But this is what you get from an out of control Federal government and courts.
Such actions suit people fine when the decisions made under this interpretation are ones they agree with. But what happens when they go against your wishes?? Not so in favor of it any more, huh? This is WHY the Founders were so careful in leaving most of the power with the states and the people and out of Washington. So when the NRA cheers the Chicago case, those of us that understand the Constitution and State's right shudder in fear. Those fears may come true with this recent gun talk!
Thomas Jefferson
"We must make our choice between economy and liberty or confusion and servitude...If we run into such debts, we must be taxed in our meat and drink, in our necessities and comforts, in our labor and in our amusements...if we can prevent the government from wasting the labor of the people, under the pretense of caring for them, they will be happy."--Thomas Jefferson
"America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own. "
--John Quincy Adams
US diplomat & politician (1767 - 1848)
“Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpation”
-James Madison at the Virginia Ratification Debates
"With respect to the words "general welfare," I have always regarded them as qualified by the detail of powers connected with them. To take them in a literal and unlimited sense would be a metamorphosis of the Constitution into a character which there is a host of proofs was not contemplated by its creators."
