Thomas Jefferson

"We must make our choice between economy and liberty or confusion and servitude...If we run into such debts, we must be taxed in our meat and drink, in our necessities and comforts, in our labor and in our amusements...if we can prevent the government from wasting the labor of the people, under the pretense of caring for them, they will be happy."--Thomas Jefferson

"America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own. "
--John Quincy Adams
US diplomat & politician (1767 - 1848)

“Since the general civilization of mankind, I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpation”
-James Madison at the Virginia Ratification Debates
"With respect to the words "general welfare," I have always regarded them as qualified by the detail of powers connected with them. To take them in a literal and unlimited sense would be a metamorphosis of the Constitution into a character which there is a host of proofs was not contemplated by its creators."

- James Madison's Letter to James Robertson, April 20, 1831

North Korean Missile Launch--Another Obama Failure!

Today's long range missile launch "test" from North Korea proves yet another disappointing failure of Barack Obama, his weakness and misjudgement of the threats we face in this world today. This was more than just a test of technology, but rather a test for the new President on how he would respond to a rogue nation clearly provoking and threatening civilized countries such as S. Korea, Japan, and the US. And as expected, Obama failed to act and lead. The little pot bellied tin-horned dictator Kim Jong Il must be laughing and licking his chops at us--as are all terrorist dictators watching our reaction (see Iran and Russia).

This however is of no surprise to anyone who knows history. Liberals are classic appeasers and would rather put teeth less, useless United Nations sanctions (which by the way is a corrupt, American hating organization we all pay for!) on a country like North Korea who will just recognize that as a sign of weakness and will only embolden them (see Hitler). Do you think Kim Jong Il cares about sanctions? He starves his own people and they live in almost complete darkness http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/dprk/dprk-dark.htm while he lives in luxury by selling counterfeit pharmaceuticals and selling weapons technology to other terrorist countries (again ,see Iran) who hate us.

What should have been done, is in conjunction with Japan, the missile should have been knocked out of the sky and a bold statement made that "passed this line you will not cross". As Ronald Reagan said "peace through strength". This is the ONLY tactic that people like Kim Jong Il understand--anything else only encourages them. This does not require a John Kerry nuanced approach--only a simple examination of history and a dose of common sense.

We live in a dangerous world both at home and abroad--we must DEMAND that our elected leaders ALWAYS do what is in the best interest of OUR people and not be so damned concerned about being loved by Europeans--or trying to get along with terrorists! But then again, what do you expect from a liberal?? Must we wait until we wake up someday and find an American city or that of an ally has been vaporized by a nuke manufactured and delivered by one of these terrorists? Most people like myself are not warmongers and I am not advocating any preemptive action on North Korea but when they are clearly an imminent threat to us, we must act so that they will think twice about doing it again. Will may live to regret the consequences of inaction someday soon otherwise if we don't...as history has shown time and time again.
